The state data is available in the forest survey report conducted by the Indian Wildlife Institute. Accordingly, there has been an increase in forest in 2021 compared to 2019. According to this report, 537.44 square km of forest growth has occurred in our state in 2019-2020. Odisha ranks third in forest growth area.
In the North Eastern states of India, an area of 1,020 square kilometers of fruit forests has been lost in the last two years, while in the country's 52 tiger projects and Giri Singh reserve forests, forest loss has been going on for the last ten years.
Similarly, from November 2020 to mid-June 2021, 345,989 forests have been destroyed in the country due to fire. In the middle of ten years, there are 80.9 million hectares of forests in the country. Which is a total of 24.62 percent of the country. We hope that this increase will be even more. Forest protection is our protection.
